Three vehicles for one person is starting to seem excessive. Would anyone be interested in an old Lincoln?

What kind of an old Lincoln?

It’s an ‘84 Town Car.

Did you just buy a Kuga/Escape?

I’ll give you 32 pennies and some belly button lint for the Lincoln.

No, new job came with a company car. I would certainly not have chosen it myself, but other than some fit and finish issues in the interior, its not bad.

3 vehicles for one person is not excessive. I have 3 plus a motorcycle, and I’m looking for a fourth (or maybe a second bike).

It’s probably one more than I really need, and I’m a little concerned about using the Lincoln enough to keep it adequately maintained.

Wow, your budget took a big hit since you made that offer on the Roadmaster.

;D I’d rather have a 20 year old old person’s car than a 30 year old old person’s car.

I can do that. Leaving for Chicago tomorrow morning, back in two weeks.

Actually, I’ve kind of wanted to write up something with more detail on the car, but haven’t gotten around to it. Assuming anyone is really that interested in reading about an early post-Malaise land yacht anyway.

Awesome, if you’re serious about a new home keep us posted... I may be interested.

Nah, I have 4 myself. I would totally buy another if I had room. At this point I’d have to sell one, or build a detached garage. Which I would love to do, but I’m not sure I will stay in this house for 20-30 more years.

Out of curiosity, what cars do you have? I only know of the Metro and Roadmaster.

My daily is an ‘06 Sierra crew cab that I bought new for a song. It’s a base model 2wd, the only options are a locking rear diff and the tow package. Paid less than $22k out the door. It’s been reliable as the day is long. My wife has a ‘15 Mazda CX-5 that I love, but rarely get to drive. I got my class M license this summer and bought a cheap used scooter to tool around town and bring up to Road America.

How’s the Lexus been treating you? What model did you get?

It’s been slightly stressful (mystery flickering dash lights are never good) but my GS300 hasn’t cost me more since my last update. Sometimes I debate whether or not I made the right choice when seeing how much money I’ve put into fixing it, and then I drive it and fall in love all over again.

Make no mistake, they’re all money pits to some extent. You just need to avoid the ones that will bury you.

Not buried yet. However I’m getting suspicious, as I’ve had enough time between things breaking to save money...
